Mahjong Tile Games

Three games you can play without knowing mahjong: Connect, Solitaire and Memory.

Want to get your hands on some mahjong tiles but can't find three other players? These three games are for one, and you don't need to know any mahjong rules. They run right in your browser with no sign-up and no download, on phone or desktop. They're sister sites of Mahjong Academy, and by the time you've played a few boards you'll know your characters, dots, bamboo and honors without trying.

Mahjong Connect: link two matching tiles

The tiles lie flat on the board. Find two that match, and if you can join them with a line that makes no more than two turns, they disappear. The line can't cross other tiles, but it can run around the outside of the board. Every board can be cleared, and there are hints and a shuffle if you get stuck.

Great for switching off for a few minutes, about one cup of tea per board. Play Mahjong Connect.

Mahjong Solitaire: clear the whole stack

144 tiles are stacked into shapes like the turtle and the pyramid. A tile is free when nothing sits on top of it and its left or right side is open. Pick two matching free tiles to remove them, and clear the whole stack to win. Any flower matches any flower, and any season matches any season. Every deal is guaranteed solvable, so if you get stuck it's the order of moves, not bad luck.

For players who like to think a few moves ahead. Play Mahjong Solitaire.

Mahjong Memory: remember where every tile is

All the tiles lie face down. Flip two at a time: a match stays up, anything else flips back. The fewer flips you need, the better. Switch on learn mode and each tile shows its name, like "5 of dots" or "9 of characters", the easiest way for kids and beginners to learn the tiles.

Lovely for the whole family: grandparents against grandkids, fewest flips wins. Play Mahjong Memory.

A new daily board for everyone

All three games have a daily challenge: one new board each day, the same for everyone in the world. When you finish, copy your result and see how your friends do.
